GAT 2 transcription
In contrast to simpler transcriptions, the GAT 2 convention enables to pay attention to the way something was said. This makes it possible to exactly analyse the phonetic and phonological characteristics of what was said. Emphases are noted precisely. Pauses are measured accurate to the tenth of a second. Speech overlaps, false starts and cliticizations are also noted. The spoken word, including any dialects, is transcribed exactly.

The simplest form of GAT 2 is the minimal transcript. According to the multilayer principle it can be expanded to the basic transcript and finally to the fine transcript.

You will receive the text document in the following format: font Courier New, font size 10, line spacing 1.5. If you prefer a different format, we will of course implement it according to your wishes.
