TiQ transcription
Talk in Qualitative Research - TiQ - is particularly recommended for reconstructive methods. The audio file is transcribed word-for-word, the sentence structure and grammatical errors are written down as spoken. False starts, stutters, reception signals and filler words such as eh, ehm, hm are noted. Also part of a TiQ transcription are the following modules: - Emphases - Pauses in the flow of speech (including micro-pauses for breathing) - Comments or notes on para-linguistic, nonverbal or external events - Characteristics of speech with range (e.g. laughing, whispering) - Speaker overlaps - Speech volume - Intonation - from low, falling to rising, high - Word slurring and quick takeover of speech - Lengthening of syllables Inaudible words or phrases and uncertainties in the transcription are marked. Each speech is given its own paragraph, beginning with a specific speaker abbreviation.
Here you can find an example of a transcript according to TiQ.
