Verbatim transcription
|
|
The audio file is transcribed word-for-word and exactly, including word and grammatical errors. The sentence structure is written down as spoken. False starts, stutters and filler words such as eh, ehm, hm are transcribed. Reception signals
such as mhm from the interviewee are noted while reception signals from the interviewer are ignored as long as no interruption of the speech flow takes place. Emphases and pauses are marked, nonverbal expressions (laughter, coughing, sighing, ...) are transcribed.
Each speech is given its own paragraph, beginning with a specific speaker abbreviation. After speaker changes time stamps are set. Also inaudible words or phrases are marked with time stamps and an estimation of the number of syllables.
You will receive the text document in the following format: font type Arial, font size 11, line spacing 1.5. If you prefer a different format, we will of course implement it according to your wishes.
In addition to the content, the verbatim transcription also reveals emotional aspects and is a good option when the content alone isn't sufficient to analyse a conversation, it's not just what is said, but how it is said.
Other languages, such as English, can be transcribed at an extra charge of €0.20 per audio minute, further languages (e.g. Spanish, French, Italian) on request.
